ANÁLISE DO IMPACTO DO E-COMMERCE NA EFICIÊNCIA DO TRANSPORTE DE CARGA AÉREA BRASILEIRA DURANTE A PANDEMIA DA COVID-19¶
Abstract¶
With the advance of the Covid-19 pandemic, the air transport sector has become essential in the movement of medicines and personal protective equipment. Also, due to the restrictions of social distance, the behavior of users when shopping has been changing, with the advancement of the online market through e-commerce, which favors air transport. The literature affirms the need for logistics and technology to handle the demand for cargo, and this paper aims to fill the gap on the topic for Brazilian airports. The objective of the study is to obtain the efficiency of the Brazilian airports that most handled cargo in 2019, before and during the Covid-19 pandemic, allowing to assess the importance and growth of the sector in the current context. The results indicate that among 18 airports, 11 showed efficiency of 100.00% in 2019, and that in 2020, even with the presence of the virus, 10 were still efficient. Among the inefficient ones, 2 increased their performance compared to 2019, corroborating the leverage of the freighter market.
