O SISTEMA DE ACESSO TERRESTRE AOS AEROPORTOS SANTOS DUMONT E GALEÃO: ESTUDO DE CASO NA REGIÃO METROPOLITANA DO RIO DE JANEIRO¶
Abstract¶
It is notable that the growth of the aeronautical industry allowed competition for passengers, airlines and cargo. Currently, competition between airports is seen as progress in air transport, in this context, offering better operational services, land access, low costs of aeronautical activities, among others, are part of the management plan of an airport. This article presents a comparison of the time taken to access the airport between Galeão and Santos Dumont airports, located in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro. Therefore, the Origin/Destination method was applied to evaluate the means of land access to airports, according to the variables: (i) distance, (ii) private transport, (iii) public transport and (iv) travel time. The results obtained determined the possible preferences of passengers from this region in relation to the study airports. Thus, pointing out the factors that can interfere in the choice of the airport, in addition to helping the user, it also contributes to the growth of literature in the scope of access, presenting indicators that are relevant for improving the management of airport administrators in the search for new users, and consequently, increase even more the competitiveness between them.
